About Mariana Becerra
Mariana Becerra is a Researcher of Public Policy at the Centro de Estudios Espinosa Yglesias (CEEY) in the Department of Social Development since January of 2013. Her main field of research is education and health public policy analysis in Mexico and their impact in social mobility. A major component of her research focuses on understanding how inadequate education and health impacts social mobility. Her fields of interest are social mobility, design of public policy, and the study of policy transfer in social policy in Mexico.
She has a Master´s Degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor´s Degree in Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). She also has completed Post-Graduate certificates in Political Analysis, Climate Change Studies, and Water Management from the ITAM.
Before CEEY, she worked as an Assistant Director of Business and Governmental Relations at the ITAM. She also worked in the public sector for four years in the Environmental Ministry (National Institute of Ecology) where she was an Assistant Director of Research and Public Policy Analysis. At that point in time, her field of interest was public policy analysis in environmental policies, specifically water policy.
