About Jorge Barragán



Jorge Barragán is the International Youth Foundation’s Country Director for Mexico, where he leads the Foundation’s youth employability efforts. He has got extensive experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of labor market solutions in Mexico and Latin America. In addition, he is an advisor to the Education Commission of the Business Coordinating Council (Mexico).

Previously, he served as the Director of the National Employment Service where he led the creation of the Mexican Labor Observatory and the modernization of the online Employment Portal.

Jorge has taught Public Administration at Universidad Iberoamericana and at the National Public Administration Institute. He has published numerous studies on youth employment, skills gaps in strategic sectors, and employment policies as a violence prevention strategy.

He has got a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico City).
