About Aurelio Nuño



Aurelio Nuño Mayer is the Mexican Minister of Public Education. As such, his main duty has been the thorough implementation of a reform that aims to improve the quality of the education system. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief of Staff to President Enrique Peña Nieto at the beginning of his government and was in charge of the communication strategies during his Presidential Campaign in 2012. Mr. Nuño also served as Chief of Staff to the former Budget Committee’s Chairman and as advisor to the then Governor of the State of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto. Furthermore, he was in charge of communication strategies during the campaign for the election of the current Governor of the State of Mexico. Aurelio Nuño holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Public Administration from the Ibero-American University (UIA) and a Master in Latin American Studies from Oxford University.
